Holy Cross offers a new member Bible study series for new members, entitled, “The Basics of the Christian Faith; Christianity 101.” This series serves not only as an introductory series for those who have never been involved in Christianity before, but also as a great review of Christian doctrine for all believers. Following the series, those who are new to the Lutheran faith are invited to join the church through the Rite of Confirmation. Those who have never been baptized in a Christian church will be invited for baptism. There is no obligation, however, to join the church. The series is intended to be an introduction to what is basic to Christian faith in general and to Lutherans in particular.

The series will include discussions on topics such as:

• What’s the problem?
• How to be Saved
• What is heaven?
• Why is there evil in the world?
• What’s the difference between religions?
• What about angels?
• What’s the deal with the 10 Commandments?
• Who was Jesus and why was He here?

The next “Christianity 101” series will be offered on Monday evenings, April 7 - May 19, 2008 at 7:00 p.m.

The only material you may want to bring are a pencil and a personal study Bible (although Bibles will be available for those who may not have one). All other materials are provided. There is no cost to attend. It’s not like “school.” It’s a Bible Study. There are no exams and no memory work. We want you to know the basics of the Christian faith whether you join Holy Cross or not.
