Our History – What God Has Been Doing Here
Ever since its beginning days in 1989, Holy Cross has been reaching out to the community with the Gospel message of sins forgiven in Jesus Christ. Holy Cross is here to fill area homes with the presence of Jesus and the love that we have in Him.
In 1991 a preschool ministry was added to enable Holy Cross to expand its outreach to area families. The preschool program has grown to over 280 children from ages two through kindergarten. In order to extend that ministry to area families, Holy Cross will expand its school in years to come to include grades one through eight.
As the school has been growing, so has the congregation. Worship attendance has increased from fifty to over 600 people in just a few years.
In recent months, God has made possible the acquisition of some additional property. This will enable Holy Cross to not only expand its school facility, but may enable Holy Cross to expand its worship and ministray space as well.
In Order To Make It Happen
Expanded ministry requires expanded facilities. Expanded facilities require additional funding. The current operating budget could not support additional debt without seriously impacting the current ministries.
New buildings are exciting! Expanded ministry is exciting! But, even more exciting, is the challenge we have as a congregation! Holy Cross can have an even greater impact on the surrounding community. We can help change the culture of our part of the world and help children and families understand the impact that Jesus can have on their homes and lives!
Expanded ministries will enable Holy Cross to have purposeful spiritual conversations at home. Today children are influenced by a world that appears to have no right or wrong in it. We are surrounded by a culture that is focused on materialism, pleasure, and the accumulation of things.
Holy Cross can have an impact on changing that…at least in this community!
Why Us…Why Now?
No one is here at Holy Cross accidentally! No one just stumbled in the door! God has brought each of us here on purpose! So the question to be asked of each of us is, “Why am I here in this place at this time in the history of Holy Cross?”
- God wants us to benefit from this ministry, to grow spiritually, and to grow together as a Christian family.
- God wants each of us to help make this ministry happen here as we share the Gospel in this community.
- This campaign is not just about building buildings. This effort is to encourage God’s people to help change families and to reach more people for Jesus.
It is asking the question, “What impact does God want you to have on this ministry and the families of this community?”
The Project
We are in the process of developing a Master Site Plan that includes the use of the acreage that we recently acquired. The total cost to implement that entire plan is estimated to be in excess of $30 million, to be completed throughout the next 20-30 years.
The priority of the first phase of this project is to make classroom space available for our new expanded school ministry. The level of support in this campaign, will determine how much additional facility will be included, which could include a gymnasium, new Worship center, and other ministry spaces.
Initial sketches of the total Master Site Plan will be made available at the Awareness Meetings in October including possible phasing of its construction. The actual size and scope of the initial phase of this project will be determined after we know the results of this campaign.
The Specific Plan
