My Vision for Ministry at Holy Cross

Summary

  • Our mission is to reach everyone in the area with the Gospel
  • Leadership Development
    • Boards & Action Groups leaders are trained in how to disciple and manage people
    • All of our ministry leaders, including our staff, are led through a process of development and leadership training.
  • Volunteer Coordinator
    • Our Volunteer Coordinator help us connect the gifts and abilities of the people of God with the many ministry opportunities available.
  • Inclusive and inspiring worship
    • Worship at Holy Cross is more than just a rite or ritual, but those who gather for worship sense an encounter with God.
    • Our worship is enriched with a variety of media, including drama, dramatic readings, video presentations, various choirs, soloists, etc.
  • Excellence in music
    • Director of Worship involves the gifts of all members in providing an inspiring worship experience.
  • New Worship Center
    • To be completed by 2010
    • Until then, creative solutions to the crowding in worship is addressed.
  • Disciples are nurtured into fully devoted followers of Jesus
    • Members not only take advantage of Christian Education ministries at the church, but God’s Word is used in both personal as well as family devotional times.
    • Parents are equipped to faithfully nurture the faith of their children and develop their walk with Jesus.
    • Families are mentored in their worship at home and their discipleship in all of life.
  • God’s people are passionate about their Savior
  • Community Center
    • all kinds of activities that connect with the community
    • an athletic
    • facilities that house a counseling center
    • a senior day care
    • a scouting program, AA, 4H, book clubs,
    • aerobics, computer clubs,
    • neighborhood meetings
    • A food court, coffee bar
    • Christian book store and lending
    • The Holy Cross campus has a park-like atmosphere.
    • play equipment for neighborhood children
    • picnic sites, nature paths, outdoor meeting areas
    • a walking path around the campus to provide a safe place for aerobic exercise and meditation.
  • Youth Center
  • Connecting with the Community
    • Holy Cross is also known as a people willing to leave the campus to do ministry “out there”, reaching people who feel uncomfortable for any reason (or unable) to come to our place.
  • Helping the disadvantaged
    • Community programs reach the indigent, impoverished, and the disenfranchised, to help meet their needs
  • Day School
    • expanding our day school to include 2 year olds through Middle School.
  • Variety of media to spread the Good News
  • New Congregations and Missionaries
    • planting new ministries and congregations
    • creative approaches to plant these missions and fund them. 
  • Full-time and Volunteer Staff
    • encouraging and training the laity to use their gifts to God’s glory
    • Staff includes both full-time and part-time professionals, retired individuals, and mostly trained volunteers.
