FaTHoM Discipleship Series

(No classes tonight)

Sundays – 9:45 – 10:30am Starting January 6

Adults & High School – The Gospel of Luke led by Pastor Sattler & Pastor McClean. Bring your Bible!
THIS Sunday (Jan 6) we will gather in the Worship Center to introduce all the study options for this semester, both on Sundays and on Wednesdays.

Wednesdays – 6:00-7:30pm Starting January 9
Ages 3 through 4th Grade
5th & 6th Grade – SPARK
7th & 8th Grade – Confirmation Class
High School – “All In” Study

Christian History Made Easy – led by Karen Geiger and Paulette Carson
The Quest – a Beth Moore Women’s Study led by Lelani Galbreath
New Small Groups Forming –try out a small group at HCLC
One & Done Studies – one session studies with a different topic each week (check the monthly Newsletter for current list of options or CLICK HERE).

Confirmation Parent Night

January 9 – 6:00pm
8th Grade (2nd year) Confirmands AND parents are asked to be present on January 9, 6:00 p.m. as a part of the Junior Confirmation evening class session for a special meeting to discuss upcoming Confirmation events, including Christian Witnesses, First Communion, & Confirmation Sunday. At least one parent is asked to be present for this important planning meeting.
7th Grade Confirmands will meet WITH parents as usual on the first Wednesday of the month.


Lots of Help is Needed

It’s time to take down all the Christmas decorations. Could you spare a couple hours? We need more people to put stuff away than we did setting it up.
We will gather THIS Saturday, January 5 at 9:00a.m. in the Worship Center.

Missed a chance to have your family photo taken for the new Church Photo Directory? You are able to submit a photo if you would like to still be included. It needs to be vertical or portrait mode.You may scan & email it to Paulette Carson (see email below) or send a photo to the Church Office (place it in the Church Office mailbox) and we will scan it and submit it for you. Be sure to include the names of everyone in the photo so we get the spelling correct.

Attention Male Vocalists

You are  invited to be a part of our Holy Cross Men’s Choir this Sunday, January 6th as we help musically, to celebrate the Epiphany of our Lord.  We will be singing at both the 8:30 and 10:45 a.m. services that morning.  If you are a male vocalist, high school age or older, and would like to participate, please attend a brief rehearsal on Thursday, January 3rd, at 7 p.m. in the Worship Center.  There will be a second opportunity to rehearse on Sunday morning, January 6th, at 8:10 a.m. in room #143.   Lending your voice will help to enrich the music that morning.


COMMUNITY OUTREACH EVENT

Holy Cross Lutheran Church and School will host a special screening of SCREENAGERS: Growing Up In The Digital Age from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 23, 2019.

In the film, Physician Delaney Ruston probes into vulnerable corners of family life, including her own, to explore struggles over social media, video games, academics and internet addiction. SCREENAGERS reveals how tech time impacts kids’ development and offers solutions on how adults can empower kids to best navigate the digital world and find balance.The documentary will be followed by a panel discussion and Q&A time with some of our area’s top pediatric physicians.

Childcare is offered for infants-3rd grade. Children 4th grade and up are encouraged to attend the movie with parents. Free pizza will be provided for everyone, but you must register in advance here.

Hey College-aged Students!  Come catch-up with Pastor McClean and other former youth group friends on TONIGHT! Wednesday, January 2 at 6:00 pm.  Meet up in the Youth Room for food, games, devotion and meaningful conversations.
